High Security Laser Keys

Laser cut keys have been used on high-end cars like Mercedes-Benz and BMW for quite some time. More recently however, these laser cut keys have been used in nearly all the most common car brands including Chevy, Ford, Hyundai and KIA! The term "laser cut" is an industry term that refers to keys that are cut on a CNC milling machine rather than a standard wheel type key cutting machine you see in hardware stores. Contrary to prior belief these keys are cut with a drill bit, NOT by lasers. For this purpose and for the fact that many of these key cuts resemble a swerving channel cut into a portion of the key blade; locksmiths, lock manufacturers and car brands call these types of keys 'sidewinder keys'.
